 This
report covers the impact from those jobs
and associated household changes
specifically tied into the Base Realignment
and Closure (BRAC) Commission
recommendations that became law in November
2005. The impacted bases in Maryland
covered in this report include Aberdeen
Proving Ground in Harford County, Andrews
Air
Force Base in Prince George’s County,
National Naval Medical Center in Montgomery
County and Fort George G. Meade in Anne
Arundel County.
It should be noted that this report does
NOT cover additional job growth and associated
households resulting from expansion of
the National Security Agency (NSA) at Fort
George G. Meade. It has been reported that
beginning in 2004 the NSA has been adding
1,500 new jobs each year, and will have
added a total of 7,500 jobs by the end
of 2008.
