MDP's
Census View 2000 GIS Mapping product for ArcView 3.2, enables
users to identify and select 2000 Census geographic layers
of interest in Maryland and to generate maps and profiles
for selected areas. The 5 page reports contain 2000 Census
Population, Household and Housing Characteristics from SF1
(short form), and 2000 Social, Economic, and detailed Housing
Characteristics from SF3 (long form). Some of the data included
in these profiles are: population by race, age, sex, educational
attainment, housing units, income, poverty, employment, commutation,
and housing costs. Among the geographic areas that can be
mapped and profiled are counties, places - incorporated and
census designated, census tracts, block groups, blocks, minor
civil divisions, voting districts, zip codes - whole and county
parts, urban areas and the new 2002 Congressional and Legislative
Districts.
Unique
Features:
- Census
View 2000 can be used to create profiles for distinct User
Defined Areas. A user can define a study area (e.g. neighborhood,
marketing area, or service area) and generate the profile
report for the area.
- This
product can be used in conjunction with MdProperty View
in order to access additional reference layers (State Highway
Administration street maps, parcel addresses, and property
maps).
- Address
locating software allows users to identify a location and
select the 2000 Census geographic layers and area to be
profiled.
- Includes
the ability to geocode customer and client address databases.
