Maryland Planning 101
Assistant Secretary of Planning Services Donald Halligan
delivered an overview of planning in Maryland called “Planning 101.” The
purpose of this presentation was to give the Task Force
a broad summary of Planning in Maryland.
This included the history of planning in the State, the reasons for planning

Maryland Demographics 101
MDP staff economist Mark Goldstein gave the Task Force
members a wide-angle view of the State’s demographics.
The Maryland Demographics 101 presentation was intended
to inform the audience about the nature of population growth
and
trends, interstate migration, age structure and the labor force and job growth. Click

Maryland Land Use: Growth
and Trends
Secretary of Planning Richard Hall then instructed the Task Force about the
realities of growth and development in Maryland. This presentation focused
on historic land use, the present state of land use in the State and the trends
and factors that will influence how the Maryland will grow in the future. Click
