The
Maryland Department of Planning (MDP) annually updates
the 2,800 property maps, or tax maps, for all 23 Maryland
counties (the exception is Baltimore City that maintains
its own property maps). MDP distributes these maps to
the public in either electronic or paper formats as part
of its MdProperty Map products.
Electronic
Maps
Tax maps are maintained and stored electronically as
part of MDP’s Geographic Information Systems
(GIS) database. Maryland tax maps are then combined
with parcel information from the Maryland State Department
of Assessments and Taxation. Individual parcel records
are linked to their property locations on the tax maps.
The
Tax map, parcel and recent sales data as well as associated
maps layers including priority funding areas, zoning, floodplain,
sewer, zip codes, census tracks and legislative and congressional
districts are available through MDP FINDER
Online or as interactive CD-ROM products, MDProperty
Map FINDER and MDProperty View.

Utilities BETA Software
A new suite of map tools for use MdProperty Map
FINDER. With this software users can: Merge several
point map files together into one map layer; Join unmapped
data files to a point map file; Clip a the features
of point map based on the features of a polygon file;
and Clip a point map file based on custom selection
criteria.
The
FINDER Utilities BETA software increases the analysis
possibilities offered with the FINDER CD product.

Paper
Tax Maps
Full size tax maps printed onto
2' by 3' paper may be ordered from the Parcel Mapping Unit.
The cost for each 2' by 3' map print is $10.00 per map. There
is a discount when purchasing a complete set of printed maps
for a single county. You have two options for ordering your
